Normal – Judith Ann Stevens, 79 of Normal, formerly of Danville passed away at 8:17 AM on Sunday May 6, 2018 at Heritage Health in Normal.

There will be a Graveside service for Judith at 2 PM Thursday at Danville National Cemetery in Danville. Reverend Steven Loftus will officiate. Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.

Judith was born in Danville on July 31, 1938 to Clarence and Mildred (McCollum) Rogers. She married John David Stevens Jr. on June 8, 1956 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother Gerald Rogers.

She is survived by her four children Patricia Grindley of Cedarburg, WI, Jeff (Jody) Stevens of Menomonie, WI, Jack Stevens of Albuquerque, NM, and Josh Stevens of Normal, four grandchildren Paul (Amanda) Grindley, Brett Grindley, Kristi (Jason) Wilmes, Kimberly (Jonny) Kertulis, six great-grandchildren and two sisters Claresse “Tiny” Hobaugh of Foley, Alabama and Linda Carrington of Danville.

Judith volunteered for many years as the librarian at Holy Family School in Danville. She was also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and more recently attended St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna. She enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, gardening, music and her dog Toby.

Memorial contributions may be made to Schlarman Academy in Danville or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
